What is Group Buying?

Group buying is a relatively new term for us Filipinos, but it's no surprise the fast popularity it has been gaining. We are, after all, natural hagglers who can't resist anything that has a percent-off tag, especially when we see it go as high as 75%. Sounds good so far? Let's see what trusty Google has to say:

In a nutshell, group buying provides us shoppers with great deals that on average go with discounts that range from 30% to 90% provided that a minimum number of shoppers avail of the promo. And it's not only available for small things like clothes and movie tickets, but actually includes travel packages and even helicopter rides for a fraction of the original price. 


There are various sites that cater specifically to group buying, so it's not impossible for anyone to find one that interests him/her. New deals are put up every day, to which one can know of without having to visit every site by subscribing to their mailing list. It's no hassle, really. You can choose to register using your Facebook account, and who doesn't have a Facebook account?
